This passive mixer chip is a product from our partner Microfluidic ChipShop. Easily mix up to three fluids.

Mixing fluids is crucial in microfluidics. Since in micro- and macrofluidics you almost always deal with laminar flow, diffusion typically governs mixing. However, because diffusion is very slow, you need to somehow improve mixing conditions. Mixing can be achieved by enlongating the channel length to better the conditions for diffusion or introducing turbulence to speed up the mixing process

This chip introduces turbulence trough a sequence of directional changes in all three dimensions. Mix up to three fluids and extract the result at one output. The 3d structure of the chip also makes it very compact, this allows four structures to be placed on the chip.
