Description
Pearl Chain Mixer Chip 658 by Microfluidic ChipShop
We are proud to bring this chip and other high quality microfluidc products to you from our partner microfluidic ChipShop, check them out here.
Mixing fluids is crucial in microfluidics. Since in micro- and macrofluidics you almost always deal with laminar flow, diffusion typically governs mixing. However, because diffusion is very slow, a different approach is needed, introducing turbulence significantly speeds up the mixing process. For instance this chip introduces turbulence via a pearl chain structure. Mix two fluids and extract the result at the two outputs of the chip.
The chip has the dimensions of a microscope slide (75.5 mm x 25.5 mm x 1.5 mm) and can be easily integrated into a variety of systems because of its standardised size.
Specifications:
- Microfluidic Chip Features:
- one long mixing structure.
- Passive mixer, no moving parts.
- Material: PC.
- Fitted with microfluidic ChipShop’s mini luer connections.
- Dimensions: 75.5 mm x 25.5 mm x 1.5 mm (microscope slide size).
This mixer chip is one of three that we have in stock, each operating on a different principle to induce turbulence to encourage mixing. Check out the herringbone and 3D serpentine chips or get the mixing kit with all three chips plus micro pumps, electronics, sensors and accessories to get started with everything you need.
